This year, the arrival of the monsoon in Madhya Pradesh is experiencing a delay.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon is running approximately 10 days behind its usual schedule in the state, raising concerns among farmers and the general public.Photo: Siddique Sk / PexelsThe IMD has indicated that the monsoon is now expected to enter the state in the next few days.
However, the exact date has not yet been specified, but the meteorological department hopes that the monsoon will cover the entire state by the end of June or the first week of July.Due to the monsoon's delay, temperatures in many parts of the state remain higher than normal.
People are eagerly awaiting rain to get relief from the heat and to accelerate agricultural activities.Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a storm and rain alert for several districts of the state today.
These are considered pre-monsoon activities, which may bring changes in the weather before the monsoon's arrival. The districts where storms and rain are expected include some areas of central and eastern Madhya Pradesh.
