Rajasthan: Relief for Small Farmers as Government Schemes Offer Support

Rajasthan is putting emphasis on government schemes to bring relief to small and marginal farmers, seeking to cut costs and raise incomes through support for seeds, fertiliser, irrigation and crops.

Officials said registration and verification have been simplified to ensure benefits reach eligible farmers, with awareness camps being held in rural areas.

Farmers said timely support makes it easier to plan their cultivation. Several called for the process to be simplified further and for payments to be made on time.

A large population in the state depends on agriculture. The government said making small farmers self-reliant is a priority and steps are being taken continually.
