Parliament's Monsoon Session begins on July 20. According to reports, following President Droupadi Murmu's approval the four-week session will hold 19 sittings through August 13.
The government's agenda
- 131st Constitution Amendment Bill — tied to women's reservation and delimitation
- Plans to push the "One Nation, One Election" Bill
- The draft National Pharmacy Commission Bill and Food Security (Amendment) Bill are also in discussion
Opposition strategy
The opposition is preparing to corner the government on several issues. Reports say the Congress is weighing a privilege motion against the Defence Minister.
Politically significant too: the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) faction has signalled it will back the Women's Reservation and Delimitation Bills.
