If a toll plaza shows your FASTag as "blacklisted", don't panic — the cause is usually low balance or incomplete KYC.
Common reasons
- Balance below the minimum
- Incomplete KYC (mandatory under RBI rules)
- Vehicle number not updated, or a damaged tag
Fixes
- Recharge via the issuing bank's app/portal — the tag re-activates shortly after balance arrives
- Check KYC status on the bank's FASTag portal; upload Aadhaar/RC to complete it
- One vehicle-one tag is enforced — deactivate old/duplicate tags
Wrong deduction?
Raise a ticket with the issuing bank's customer care; if unresolved, complain on NHAI helpline 1033. Keep the transaction SMS/statement.
