A major project to strengthen digital connectivity across Asia has emerged. According to reports, a consortium led by Microsoft and Singapore-based Lightstorm will lay a 3,600-km undersea cable called I-2SEA.
The benefits
- The cable will connect India with Malaysia and Singapore
- It will support rising AI, cloud and data-centre demand
- The project is expected to go live by late 2029
Experts say such projects can strengthen India's position as a regional data hub.
