For SC, ST and OBC citizens, the caste certificate is the basis of reservation in education, jobs and schemes. In Chhattisgarh it is issued via the e-District portal or Lok Seva Kendras.
Application process
- Log in at edistrict.cgstate.gov.in and choose the "Caste Certificate" service
- Fill the form and upload documents — the application goes to the SDM/Tehsil office
- After verification, a digitally signed certificate is issued
Key documents
- Aadhaar and ration card
- Father's/grandfather's caste certificate or old land records (misal) as the district requires
- Recommendation letter from the panchayat/councillor
- School TC showing caste entry
Worth knowing
The permanent caste certificate is generally made once and serves as the base document for the next generation. If old records are missing, apply at the Tehsil for a copy of the misal records. Processes differ slightly by district — confirm at your Tehsil office.
