In Chhattisgarh, ration cards are issued by the Food Department and double as identity proof for several government schemes besides subsidised grain.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a resident of Chhattisgarh
- The card is issued in the name of the senior woman of the family
- Income decides the category — APL, BPL or Antyodaya
Documents needed
- Aadhaar of all family members
- Address proof — electricity bill, rent agreement or patta
- Passport-size photo
- Old ration card, if transferring
How to apply
Apply online on the Food Department portal (khadya.cg.nic.in), or submit the form at your Janpad/Municipal office or the nearest Lok Seva Kendra (Choice Centre). Keep the acknowledgement number safe — it is used to track status.
Good to know
Adding a new member (newborn/daughter-in-law) needs a birth or marriage certificate. Always verify the latest rules on the official portal.
